An almost-40 gallery owner, a 24-year-old boy-band singer and a hotel room with the whole city lit up outside. The Idea of You is the rare streaming romance where the chemistry is not a rumor.
What happens in the hotel room
Hathaway plays Solène Marchand, a divorced Los Angeles gallery owner who meets Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine) of the boy band August Moon by walking into his Coachella trailer thinking it’s a bathroom. Michael Showalter directed from Robinne Lee’s novel, and Prime Video released it on May 2, 2024.
The clip is the night it stops being hypothetical. She’s in a cream dress by the window, he crosses the room, and the rest is hands, necks, a very confident sweater removal and a tumble onto white sheets. What you won’t see is nudity: the underwear stays on, the camera keeps its distance and the edit keeps moving. Consider it answered.
It’s on this list because people search for it constantly, and because it’s the closest cousin to what Showalter is about to do with her in Verity. For the real thing, go back fourteen years to the loft scenes in Love & Other Drugs, or start at the top of the rest of Anne Hathaway’s nude scenes.
