What happens in I Want Your Sex
Erika is a famous provocateur artist and Elliot is the broke twenty-three-year-old she hires as a studio assistant. He meets her the way the rest of the world does first, on a laptop screen, where she is giving an interview in a mesh top that hides absolutely nothing, while her explicit artwork flashes up between the answers. Then comes the real thing: Erika, topless and completely at ease, holding forth about herself while Elliot tries very hard to find somewhere safe to look.
It is the scene that tells you what kind of movie this is going to be, and it is Wilde clearly having the time of her life. At the premiere she told E! News that she had turned forty the spring before and “felt great and I was like, ‘Hell, yeah.'” Cooper Hoffman told EW she and Araki were far more comfortable with the nudity than he was.
