What happens in Alpha Dog

Alpha Dog is Nick Cassavetes’ film about a small-time dealer, Johnny Truelove, whose crew kidnaps the younger brother of a man who owes him money, and it is based on a real case, so it is not a cheerful watch. Angela is Johnny’s girlfriend, and her scenes are the two of them in a motel room.

She walks around the room topless, climbs into bed with him, and then lies back with a cigarette while he stares at the ceiling, very much not in the mood. She is the only person in the scene who seems relaxed, and she has no idea what kind of trouble he is in.
