The comeback video, and the one people argued about. In Woman’s World (2024) Katy Perry plays a skimpy Rosie the Riveter: denim cut down to almost nothing, a red polka-dot bandana, power tools and a bottle of “whiskey for women”. She was thirty-nine. Released 11 July 2024 with the single.
Then an anvil drops on her and she wakes up in a white knit bikini with bionic legs. Critics mostly hated it; Perry posted behind-the-scenes footage saying it was meant as satire. Not a nude scene.
What happens in the video
Power tools and whiskey in the opening, then the anvil, then the white bikini and bionic legs. She fuels up at a gas station (the pump goes somewhere you would not expect), rides a monster truck with Trisha Paytas, smashes through a glass door and flies off in a helicopter screaming “I’m Katy Perry!”
