What happens in The Voyeurs

Sweeney plays Pippa, who moves into a Montreal loft with her boyfriend Thomas (Justice Smith) and discovers that the huge windows across the street belong to a photographer, Seb (Ben Hardy), and his wife Julia (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), two people who have apparently never heard of curtains. Binoculars come out. Then a laser microphone. Then the boundaries go out the window, literally.

The two clips here are Pippa crossing the street. First the shoot: she stands naked against a grey wall and then in a blue flash while Seb hides behind his camera, looking more nervous than she does. Then the affair, a long, sweaty, lamp-lit scene in his apartment that the film has been teasing for an hour. Later those photos turn up on a gallery wall, which tells you everything about who was really being watched.

Michael Mohan made it for Amazon Prime Video in September 2021, and it’s the reason every “Sydney Sweeney erotic thriller” search exists. Trashy? Gloriously.
