What happens in episode six

The clip opens with Faye doubled over in a purple slip, bracing herself against the counter like her body has filed a formal complaint. A man in a white tank top paces through the dark. Then we find her collapsed face down on the bed, out cold or close to it.

What happens next is the reason this scene is on the list. He leans over her, she comes round, and the two of them end up forehead to forehead in the blue half-light, close enough to kiss. There’s no nudity to speak of, just a slip, bare legs and seventy-odd seconds of two people who clearly shouldn’t be this into each other in the middle of a crisis. Euphoria has always been at its best when it’s gentle for a moment and then pulls the rug.

Cherry plays the whole thing groggy and soft, which is harder than it looks. Faye spent two seasons as the girl everyone underestimated (the full list of Chloe Cherry nude scenes is the receipt). Here, for once, she’s the one somebody checks on. It’s her quietest scene of the season and, for my money, the one that makes the ending land.
